I wanted to share a little more about the story of how I came to know Jesus. My freshman year of college my life changed drastically. I grew up in a small town, lots of friends, family, basically total comfort and ease. Then I moved and life through me a few curves I wasn't expecting. It was a hard year but God had plans for me during that time.
In the middle of that year a lot of things happened all at once. My aunt started going back to church and asked me to go with her. You see, I grew up going to church a few times a year, maybe more here and there. When I thought about God, mostly I was fearful, but honestly, I just didn't think about Him much. I ended up going with my aunt a few times to church and actually liked it. I was also looking into getting involved on campus and saw a sign for a Christian sorority. I didn't think it could hurt, so I check it out.
Through those events, I started hearing the gospel message. Basically that all satisfaction and joy in life comes from a personal relationship with Jesus. Understanding that because of my sin and running to others thing to satisfy me, I was missing out on that. The girls in the sorority explained to me that Jesus had died on the cross and that provide a way for me to know God. Amazing! All I had to do was put my faith and trust in Christ and I could have that relationship with God.
Spring of that year, I remember surrendering my life to Christ and nothing has been the same since then. In Psalms is says about God, "In your presence is fullness of joy and at your right hand are pleasures forever more." Having been on both sides, I can confirm the truth of that verse.
So that's my story. Praise God He entered in and opened my eyes. If you have questions or want to know more, check out this website or send me an e-mail:
